Biographers want to place marker

Ambrose Bierce, a talented and enigmatic West Coast literary figure from the turn of the last century, has been the center of controversy here in his home state. The topic: Where was Bierce born?

Ohio Bicentennial Commission officials were prepared to erect a marker for Bierce (1842-1914) in southern Ohio's Meigs County, where his biographers said he was born in the tiny hamlet of Horse Cave on June 24, 1842.
