Patricia O'Brien's new book, "The Glory Cloak: A Novel of Louisa May Alcott and Clara Barton," was published in May. The book tells a story of women's friendship during the Civil War based on episodes from the lives of Louisa May Alcott and Clara Barton. Real people--Nathaniel Hawthorne, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, and Alcott's father, Bronson Alcott--are integrated into the story along with fictional characters.
