    For several days I have observed my oldest son for signs of demonic possession. After all, the Newport News, Va., public schools exposed him to the ``supernatural overtones'' of a play adapted from W.W. Jacobs' classic horror story ``The Monkey's Paw.'' 
    This happened roughly six years ago on a middle school field trip. At the time I chalked the trip up to the enterprise of some fine teachers. Now, I discover they may have poisoned his mind.
