Tolstoy humanitarian award for Dalai Lama

An award named after the daughter of Count Leo Tolstoy will be presented to
the Dalai Lama next April, the New York-based Tolstoy Foundation has
announced.

The Dalai Lama will be the second recipient of the Alexandra Tolstoy
Humanitarian Award, which is for a "life's work and career reflecting the
spirit of Alexandra Tolstoy's humanitarian principles".

The first to receive the award was Angier Biddle Duke, chief of protocol
for former American presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson, and a
