The city of Rochester issued the following press release:

The Central Library of Rochester and Monroe County will host lecturer Charles Girard, 1 p.m., Sun., Nov. 4 as he discusses the career of Samuel Hopkins Adams, a Rochester resident who became one of America's top investigative reporters. Adams' crusade against "snake oil salesmen" resulted in the formation of the Food and Drug Administration, which requires that all prescription drugs meet tough regulations and maintain high standards to ensure public health.
