LONDON E.M. Forster may not have wanted his novels adapted for the screen, but in his case, filmmakers have shown no respect for the dead's wishes.
Twenty-two years after the British writer's death, his novels continue to offer cinematic fodder. Two back-to-back releases are bearing that out. Indeed, only one Forster work remains unfilmed - The Longest Journey.
"The way Forster tells a story is particularly cinematic," said Charles Sturridge, director of "Where Angels Fear To Tread" (opening Friday).
