'Enchanted April' gives hope, promise

OREM -- It's no coincidence that the Hale Center Theater production of "Enchanted April" opens . . . in April.

Anne and Cody Swenson wanted the romantic comedy, based on the 1920's novel by Elizabeth Von Arnim, to play on the local stage at a time when the very weather offers hope and promise.

"It's the month of April so why not?" said Director Syd Riggs.

Riggs has loved and enjoyed the film version of the story, so when a student of hers called to tell her she'd just seen the show on Broadway and that Riggs had to do it, Riggs agreed.
