THE Yorkshire landscape helped shape their work - and now scholars are set to learn more about the Bronte family following the purchase of books from their library and other significant treasures.

The Bronte Society has secured a rare portrait of Charlotte Bronte, books from the family library, five miniature sketches by Charlotte Bronte and envelopes for letters already in the collection.

The items will go on display at Bronte Parsonage Museum, in Haworth, West Yorkshire, which is run by the society, from February.
